International students have the option to enroll in Seneca's English Language Institute (ELI) before starting their professional program. The ELI offers eight (8) levels of English courses, each lasting seven (7) weeks. There are six (6) start dates throughout the year: January, March, May, July, September, and November.
If you apply to a professional program and do not meet Seneca’s English requirements, you may receive an Offer of Admission to your program that is conditional upon completion of the English Language Institute.
Your package will include two offer letters: one with a start date and level for the ELI, and a conditional start date for your professional program.
Your English test score will be used to place you in the most appropriate ELI level. If you do not have an English score, you will take a placement test when you arrive on campus.
If you receive an offer to the English Language Institute with a conditional professional offer, you may submit both offers in support of your application for a study permit in Canada.
Note: Not all programs are eligible for a conditional offer after completion of ELI. Seats cannot be held for programs that are highly competitive or oversubscribed. Please refer to the application portal for the most updated program availability specific to your application and situation.
